EPFO Member Portal (What is UAN Login?)
Each employee contributing to EPF receives a unique 12-digit identifier called the Universal Account Number (UAN). This identifier is generated and distributed by the Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) and verified by the Ministry of Labour and Employment, Government of India. Unlike other identifiers, such as the EPF Account (ID), which changes with each job switch, the UAN remains constant throughout an employee’s career.
Whenever an employee changes jobs, EPFO assigns a new EPF Account (ID) linked to their existing UAN. By providing their UAN to the new employer, employees can request a new EPF Account (ID) to be connected to their UAN. Consequently, all member IDs provided by different employers are consolidated under the same UAN, simplifying account management for employees.
Steps for UAN Login
To initiate the UAN Login process, users should adhere to the following steps:-
- Visit the official UAN portal website at https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/.
- The homepage will be displayed.
- Navigate to the login section and input your UAN number, password, and the captcha code provided.
- Proceed by clicking on the ‘Sign in’ button to access your registered account.
Steps to Generate UAN Login Password
To generate UAN Login password, the user needs to follow the below given steps:-
- First of all, go to the official website UAN portal i.e., https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/
- The homepage will open
- Click on the Forgot Password option
- A new page will open
- Now, enter your UAN number and the Captcha code
- After that, click on the Submit button
- A new page will open
- Now, enter your name, date of birth and gender and click on the Verify button
- Then, enter your Aadhaar number and enter the Captcha code and tick the undertaking to allow verification
- After that, your Aadhaar number will be verified
- You need to enter your mobile number to receive OTP
- Additionally, mark the consent that follows: “I hereby consent to provide my biometric, Aadhaar number, and/or One Time Pin (OTP) data for Aadhaar-based authentication in order to establish my identity.
- Now, an OTP will be ent to your registered mobile number
- Enter the received OTP, captha code, and click on the verify button for verification
- This will prompt you to create a new password. Make sure your password consists of a minimum of eight characters, including a capital letter, a special character, and a number. Additionally, confirm it.
- The password for your UAN login has been successfully modified.
Steps to Find UAN
To find the UAN, the user needs to follow the below given steps:-
- First of all, go to the official website UAN portal i.e., https://unifiedportal-mem.epfindia.gov.in/
- The homepage will open
- Click on the Know your UAN option, under the Important Links tab
- A new page will open
- Now, enter your registered mobile number and the captcha code
- After that, click on the Request OTP button
- An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile number
- Enter the received OTP for verification
- After successful verification, click on the OK button
- Then, enter your name, date of birth, Aadhaar number and the captcha code.
- After that, click on the Show My UAN button and your UAN will open on your screen
Steps to Activate UAN
To Activate UAN, the user needs to follow the below given steps:-
- First of all, go to the official website of EPFO i.e., https://www.epfindia.gov.in/site_en/index.php
- The homepage of the website will open
- Under the Services tab, click on the For Employees option
- A new page will open
- Click on the Member UAN/Online Services
- A new page will open
- Now, under the Important Links, click on the Activate UAN option
- A new page will open
- Now, enter all the required details like your UAN number or your member ID, name, Aadhaar number, mobile number, date of birth, and the captcha code
- After that, accept the declaration and click on the Get authorization PIN
- An OTP will be sent to your registered mobile numbe
- Enter the received OTP and click on the Validate OTP and Activate UAN option
- To access your PF account, EPFO will send you an SMS on your mobile device upon UAN activation.
